Mostly in my career I have been responsible for designing full collections in menswear. ( i.e. tailored clothing, woven’s, knits and sweaters, outerwear, graphic design and knits and bottoms). I have a extensive knowledge in all these areas as well as a huge appreciation for them. I believe in my experience its allowed me to gain strong visual merchandising skills for putting together a cohesive collection to help in appearance/presentation and sales. Visual merchandising and presentation to me is very important in my personal design aesthetic. I believe with my background in working with all those elements, that it has given me a perspective on quality control, design, and collaboration in putting together an overall outstanding product. It all started out with me as a kid noticing how Ralph Lauren showed his clothing. It wasn’t just a sweater that he was selling, it was how you wore the sweater, and what you were wearing with it, and where you were wearing it, as well as other factors. That train of thought has always stuck with me regardless if I designed at brands that had me focus on a specific divisions.
I was educated in Fashion Design from Parsons School of Design. While I was at Parsons I worked as a Sales Representative/ Visual Merchandiser at Ralph Lauren’s Flagship store in New York on Madison Ave as well as Worth Ave in Palm Beach. Working there showed me a great perspective of high end retail and merchandising. I believe at that time while I was younger it really paved a path of understanding and more of an appreciation for the whole process of design from start to finish when the product is displayed on the sales floor and the customers are buying the product. I am very detailed oriented and have great communication qualities as well as a very strong knowledge of Illustrator and Photoshop. I also have excellent visual art and technical skills such as hand drawing, building/construction and painting. I have worked with overseas factories in all my positions as well as traveled to Asia to work with them personally.
I also have done side work with my good friend Zoologist/TV personality Jarod Miller from “Jarod Miller’s Animal Exploration” on some productions for the “Today show”, “Huffington post”, “Fox and Friends”, “The Rachel Ray show”, The NYC museum of natural history, and other public functions. I would handle a lot of the animals as well as I would help write and design some ideas for pilots that he is currently shopping out to select networks. Along with working with Jarod I came to know Jack Hanna and and other wild life personalities and work with them and learn more about different wild life, habitats, and Preservation in the Process.
